The results of the FSN’s Agility in Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting (PBF) Survey 2021 analyzes the performance and agility of the PBF processes across over 500 organizations. The results are extremely revealing. They show that, on the whole, we forecast more quickly than we did four years ago, but that forecast accuracy has deteriorated. Only 43 percent of organizations can forecast revenue to within plus or minus five percent, and 80 percent cannot forecast beyond a year. Fifty-two percent are unable to look out further than six months. Here is a snapshot of how agile corporate forecasting is.
